The Northern Spotted Grasshopper (Aularches miliaris), also known as the coffee locust or foam grasshopper, is a strikingly coloured insect native to south and Southeast Asia. It belongs to the Pyrgomorphidae family (gaudy grasshoppers). When disturbed, it can emit a foul-smelling, bitter, and potentially toxic white foam from its thoracic spiracles to deter predators.
