Papilio Blumei also known as the green swallowtail is endemic to Sulawesi, meaning it cannot be found naturally anywhere else in the world. It is known to inhabit meadows, grasslands, and hilltops.
The signature iridescent colours of the Blumei Swallowtail are not actually made of pigment. Instead, they are created by "structural color." The wings are covered in rows of microscopic concave surfaces that reflect light in various layers, amplifying and shifting the waves to produce the shimmering, metallic effect
